It can take up to two pay periods for a direct deposit update to take effect. If you update your direct deposit in ADP Workforce Now, you should expect at least one additional payment to go to your old account. If you plan on closing an old deposit account, we recommend you retain access to that account for at least two weeks after updating your direct deposit while changes process.
If your payment was submitted to an account closed in good standing or if there was a typo in your account number on file, the receiving bank will reject the deposit and send the funds back to us. The length of time a bank will hold a deposit before rejecting it varies based on the bank, but a deposit return may take 10 days or longer. Once returned, the funds will be reissued with the next possible payroll run.
If your payment was submitted to an open account or an account with outstanding transactions, the payment will not be returned to Shiftgig. You will need to work with the receiving bank to track the deposit.
